Ed Wrather retired as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater, Oklahoma as of the end of 2012. He had been the pastor there for a total of 18 1/2 years, 4 1/2 years the first pastorate and 14 years the second. Ed is hoping to have more time to write and hopes to have additional speaking opportunities as the Lord leads.
Ed has also served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Dill City, Oklahoma and Trinity Baptist Church, Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Before the pastorate Ed Wrather was very active as a layman serving as a Deacon. He was an Oklahoma Sr. Probation and Parole Officer for eight years. Prior to his becoming a Parole Officer he operated oilfield electronic inspection units and owned and operated an oilfield inspection company until the bust came to the oilfield in 1982.
Ed Wrather grew up on a farm in western Oklahoma where he now lives.
