Jesus Saves
January 6, 2020By Ed Wrather

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. – John 3:16 NKJV.

After the healing of the lame man at the temple Peter addresses the Sanhedrin in Acts 4:8-12:

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is NO OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED”

Tyler Moon was running the Twin Cities Ten Miler back in October when he passed out falling to the ground. He had experienced ventricular tachycardia which was an irregular heartbeat and just after the eight-mile mark he fell to the ground face first. Tyler was fortunate in that the first person to give him aid was a registered nurse anesthetist. Soon another nurse ran over to help along with another nurse anesthetist, a doctor and in total 11 very well-trained people rushed to give aid. They performed CPR until an ambulance arrived with a defibrillator and Tyler’s heart was shocked back into the proper rhythm. Tyler is doing fine now with marriage planned in the future, but it is planned to have a defibrillator implanted in case the tachycardia occurs again.

That is a great story made even greater because of Tyler’s desire to be a witness for the Lord by having the words, JESUS SAVES, printed on his runner’s bib instead of his name. Of course, the story is even better because the name of the nurse anesthetist, the first person to rush to Tyler’s aid, his name is: Jesus Bueno! Good Jesus!

God’s protection and help for Tyler Moon is so amazing as two months before he had run ten miles on a rarely traveled stretch of road by himself. If he’d had the tachycardia, then there would have been no one there to help him! That’s why runners training are encouraged to have someone with them as they are running even when just training.

Jesus no doubt was responsible for the physical salvation of Tyler back on that day in October, and that is amazing. However, I think that Tyler would tell you that something even more amazing is how through believing in Jesus he has eternal life.

Jesus is still saving souls, has He saved yours? If not, Jesus is saying this to you right now: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me (Revelation 3:20).” In prayer, ask Jesus to come into your heart and life, ask Him to forgive you of your sins, the bad things you have done, and be your Lord, Master, and Savior. Jesus will SAVE you!
