Ludicrous

The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." - Psalm 14:1.

H1N1 aka Swine Flu is a problem and in a few months it may be a more severe problem when a second wave of the flu may sweep across the world. In what is called "bizarre" by some in Great Britain a MP there has gotten into a little trouble with his humor suggesting that the singing sensation Susan Boyle (What a voice!) caused swine flu. On his Twitter page Sion Simon posted this: "I’m not saying Susan Boyle caused swine flu. I’m just saying that nobody had swine flu, she sang on TV, people got swine flu." I have a word for that: ludicrous! Dictionary dot com defines ludicrous in this way: "causing laughter because of absurdity; provoking or deserving derision; ridiculous; laughable."

Here are some other things that I think are ludicrous:

Denial of the Holocaust - Six million Jews massacred.

Take a look at a list of some of the evidence held by the United States Holocaust Museum:
http://www.ushmm.org/research/collections/overview/

Denial of the Armenian Holocaust - 1.5 million Armenians massacred.

There are many articles that you can find about this but one by Robert Fisk grabbed my attention:
http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/27/057.html

God does not exist.

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:20)."

God doesn’t care.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son… (John 3:16a)."

Believing you are a Christian just because you are a member of a church.

"Thomas said to Him, ‘Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:1-6).’"

Believing you will go to Heaven because the good things you have done will outweigh the bad things you have done.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9)."

We may not want to believe that some things are true but that does not make them any less true just because we refuse to believe it. The evidence is overwhelming that the Holocaust and that the Armenian Holocaust occurred. We may not want to believe that Stalin murdered millions of people but the evidence is overwhelming. We may not want to believe the horrendous killings that occurred in Rwanda, but they still happened whether we choose to believe it happened or not. We may not want to believe that some things are lies but just because we believe a lie to be true does not make it true. As Jesus said, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:31-32)."
